Privacy Policy

myhyderabad.rent ("we", "the site") is a free, anonymous rent map for
Hyderabad. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how you
can ask us to delete it. We built this site to need as little of your
data as possible — most of the map is usable with no sign-in and no
personal data at all.
What you can do without giving us any data
Browsing the map, searching neighbourhoods, viewing rent pins, and
viewing owner listings all work with no sign-in and no personal data
collected.
What we collect when you sign in or submit something

Phone number. Signing in to drop a rent pin, list a
flat, or express interest in a listing requires a one-time code sent
to your phone via Supabase Auth and Twilio. We use your phone number
to identify your account, enforce basic anti-spam limits (e.g. one
rent pin per number), and — only if you take an action that needs
it — connect you with another user over WhatsApp (see below).

Rent reports. The rent amount, approximate
location, and flat details you submit are stored and shown publicly
on the map. These are anonymous — your name and phone number are
never attached to a public rent pin.

Owner listings. If you list a flat, the listing
details (rent, location, photos, etc.) are public, but your contact
number is never shown publicly. It's only used to notify you over
WhatsApp when a seeker expresses interest, and to notify matching
seekers when you post a new listing.

Seeker interest. If you express interest in a
listing, your phone number is shared with that listing's owner over
WhatsApp (with your message), so they can call you back. It is not
shown publicly on the site.

Photos. Photos you upload for an owner listing are
stored in a public file bucket under a randomly generated filename
(not your name or number).

Hashed IP address. We keep a one-way hashed version
of your IP address temporarily to rate-limit spam and abuse. We
don't store your IP address in plain text, and we don't use it to
identify you.
Who we share data with

Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and
server functions.

Twilio — delivers the SMS one-time codes used to
sign in.

Meta / WhatsApp Business — delivers the "someone's
interested in your listing" / "a new listing matches your search"
notifications described above.

Google Maps — renders the map itself. Your use of
the embedded map is subject to
Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Your choices
- You can use almost the entire site without signing in at all.

Signing out starts a 1-hour cooldown before you can sign in again
with the same number — this is a spam-prevention measure, not a way
to delete your data.

To request deletion of a rent pin, listing, or your account data,
email us (see below). We'll remove what we reasonably can, though
some anonymous, non-identifying data (like an aggregate rent report
with no phone number attached) may not be individually traceable to
you to delete.
